Good Morning,

On July 10, 2016 I had the opportunity to play at a Bluegrass Service at Saint Paul's Church in Gardner, MA, On a regular basis I have the opportunity to play music with these folks at several of the local music jams in the region.

I'm including a recording of our rendition of "When the World's on Fire", a tune that you will immediately identify as "This Land is Your Land" by Woody Guthrie.  However this tune was recorded by the Carter Family years before Guthrie, part of the folk "process".

I'm including the words so you can sing along.

Dick Horonoff mandolin, Cathy Provoda autoharp, Greg Algeri Bass, Pam Harris Banjo and John Poltrack Guitar

When the World’s on Fire

Carter Family (This Land is Your Land) - D

Oh, my loving mother, when the world's on fire
Don't you want God's bosom to be your pillow
Tide me over in the Rock of Ages
Rock of Ages cleft for me

I'm going to heaven when the world's on fire
And I want God's bosom to be my pillow
Tide me over in the Rock of Ages
Rock of Ages cleft for me

[Instrumental break]

Oh, my loving brother, when the world's on fire
Don't you want God's bosom to be your pillow
Tide me over in the Rock of Ages
Rock of Ages cleft for me

Oh, my loving sinner, when the world's on fire
Don't you want God's bosom to be your pillow
Tide me over in the Rock of Ages
Rock of Ages cleft for me

[Instrumental break]

Don't you want to go to heaven when the world's on fire
Don't you want God's bosom to be your pillow
Tide me over in the Rock of Ages

Rock of Ages cleft for me
